KIHEFO Work Approach in Kigezi Community

KIHEFO believes poverty, ignorance, and disease are interconnected, and therefore, all must be addressed to break the cycle. Based on this philosophy, the organization pursues a holistic and participatory approach to community development. Using a bottom-up strategy, individual people are given the necessary care to become productive community members. The key to their approach is to educate and empower people so they can live a positive, economically productive and healthy life. Former patients donate their time as volunteers to help further KIHEFO’s goals of promoting sustainable livelihood to fight poverty, ignorance and improve health care in community.

Kihefo allows development partners to visit her projects in Uganda. Kihefo welcomes Volunteers from the whole world to share a skill, spare their time and work. Volunteer duration ranges from 2 weeks to 12 months.
